Hello everyone,

I arrived in Entebbe, Uganda on Tuesday evening around 8:50pm.  I was welcomed with a nice warm 70 degrees.  So for those of you in Alaska, it was great. J  I stayed with some friends Tuesday night in Entebbe and then around noon on Wednesday Bob and Carolyn (the directors of Good Shepherds Fold or GSF orphanage) picked me up.  Finally at about 6:30pm Wednesday evening we pulled up to the front gate here at the orphanage.  Most of the kids were down at the gate to welcome me.  I can’t tell you enough how thrilled I was to see there smiling faces again.

There are three new staff members here.  There is a lady who is teaching at the Primary school here on the compound and she is from New Zealand.  Then there is a couple who is working in the clinic and they are from Sweden.  These three people will all be staying for six months.  Which I believe the couple got here in January and then the other lady got here eight weeks ago.

It is almost 5am here, and I have been up since 4.  Unfortunately jet lag is killing me.  I was wide awake at 4, so I figured I would get up and send a quick email.

Praise the Lord all of my bags made it here safely.  When I got to Entebbe and was going though customs they just asked what was in the bags and then let me come into the country.  So thank you to all of those who were praying for the safety of my travels and for the bags getting though.

There are some new faces here at the orphanage, so in the next couple of days I will get a chance to meet these new little ones.  But it was great to see some familiar faces.  Considering there were 110 kids last time, I am not doing to bad with names.  One of the boys came up to the guest house to help bring my bags in and his comment to Bob was “She even remembers our names”.  The smallest things mean so much to these kids.

Anyway, at the end of today when I have had a chance to settle a little, I’ll send out another email to everybody.

I would love to hear from people, so drop a line when you have time.
