Sorry that I didn’t get this email sent out sooner, but things have been pretty crazy since I got back into the states. I have been meaning to send out an email for the past week and I am just now getting around to it. I left the orphanage a week ago. The day before I left and the day I left were pretty hectic. Just saying goodbye to the kids and spending as much time with them as I could. It wasn’t easy saying goodbye since I don’t know when I am going to get back to the orphanage. It is also hard saying bye to the kids that will be turning 18 this year, because if I have an opportunity to go back next year, those kids won’t be there. But even after saying the goodbyes, it was a great trip and I have a lot of great memories. I was only at the orphanage for two weeks and that was definitely not long enough. Some of the kids thought I still had another week, so it was hard on them that I was leaving so soon. I was just glad that I got to go, but the kids don’t understand that. They wanted to know why I was only coming for two weeks. I am just blessed that I had the opportunity to go back so soon after the first time I went. It had been almost a year since I was there the first time, and most people don’t have that chance. I know it will sometimes take people a few years before they can get back. Some of the kids were surprised that I really did come back. So hopefully when I told them this time that I would be back again, they believed me. Some people might not have been on the email list from the beginning, so for those who weren’t here is a web site that you can go to and read the emails I sent, and also see some pictures of the kids. https://akrohrer.tripod.com/ Thank you everybody for being so interested in my life and the lives of these orphans. It was so nice when I checked my emails to have 15 plus emails from friends and family. It is great to know how much people care. If there are people that want to help the orphanage is one way or another, please email me, or call. There are kids that need to be sponsored, there are financial needs, there are clothing needs, and numerous other ways for people to be involved. So if anybody has any questions, please ask. Also I brought back from necklaces that the house mom’s made and they are sitting at Harborside and Flyby Coffee shops, so please drop in and see the necklaces that are made from magazine paper. They are really beautiful. If you don’t live in Kodiak and you are interested in the necklaces email me and I can mail them to you. They just sell for a donation and then the money goes back to the orphanage. Thanks again for the prayers. Debbie |
